Hey hey everybody and welcome to another cover reveal on my little beardy blog. Oooh, I. Am. EXCITED!
Why? Why are you so excited you bearded buffoon, I hear you ask? Well, this is book 3 in the Lori Anderson series. If you are not familiar with these books then I suggest that a) you slap yourself in the face with a damp haddock, and b) that you waddle off and read my reviews of Deep Down Dead and Deep Blue Trouble before dipping your hands into your pockets and ponying up for a copy of each one. Go on, you know it makes sense 😉
When I sat down to write this reveal I realised that, in fact, I am way too excited to do this cover reveal on my own. I need to call upon the skill and expertise of another. Someone, maybe, who actually has met Steph herself?
So, who did I call up to ask to present this cover reveal? Well, you may recall a conversation I once had with a young up and coming book blogger (if you cannot recall this epic encounter, or have no clue as to what I’m talking about, you can find that chat here), and I thought, why not ask him if he’s free?
Sadly, I was.
That’s right beardy book blog fans, I called up myself, The Beardy Book Blogger, once again. Me’ll know what to do….
TBBB: Hello again once more Martin or Mart. How have I been since we last spoke?
TBBB: We have been most splendid, thank you. And can I say THANK YOU for allowing me to assist in the reveal of the cover for Steph’s 3rd Lori Anderson book, Dee…
TBBB: Ahahahahahahahahah………ah! Let’s not get too carried away with the title and shizz just yet!
TBBB: Soz beans.

TBBB: I’m just so excited. nnnnnnngggggg…….
TBBB: Control yourself!
TBBB: *breathes* I am…..controlled.
TBBB: NO I’M NOT!!!!!!! Arghhhh….hyper…venti…lating….
TBBB: Why oh why oh why don’t I listen to that inner voice that tells me when one of my good ideas is not a good idea *face palm* Here, have this paper bag…
TBBB: *puff pufff* thank…*puff*…you…*puff*
TBBB: Feeling any better now?
TBBB: Much. Thank you. Why did that bag smell of ham?
TBBB: It had our lunch in it; ham and crisp butties with mustard mayo.
TBBB: Ooh, lovely. Now, where were we?
TBBB: We were about to reveal the cover for Steph’s latest Lori Ander…
TBBB: …son book. Oh, for fuh…
TBBB: *waking up* Sorry about that. Um, why am I wet?
TBBB: I threw a glass of water at me.
TBBB: Why is my head sore?
TBBB: I threw the glass at me too. It, er, it slipped.
TBBB: Ok, that’s going to bruise. Sorry, I think I got a little over excited there for a second.
TBBB: You think?
TBBB: I do.
TBBB: Look, can we please just get on with the sodding cover reveal?
TBBB: Of course. My apologies. So, how did we get this gig then?
TBBB: Okaaaay, now this is the really exciting part….wait, you are ok now, aren’t we?
TBBB: I am totes ok and ready for anything.
TBBB: Good, because, you see, Karen “Queen of Books” Sullivan, she of Orenda Books, messaged me and told me that Steph herself had asked if I would reveal the cover….. *gibber*….
TBBB: You know what this calls for don’t you?
TBBB/TBBB: A gratutitous Steph appreciation photo opportunity….. ta daaaaaaa…
TBBB/TBBB: sighhhhhh….lovely Stephanie 🙂
TBBB: Ooh, ooh, what about the one from when you actually met her and she didn’t run away or call the police?
TBBB: What, you mean…..this one?
TBBB: Yay, that’s the one. Awwhh, look at her nervously laughing face 🙂 Anyway, we digress…
TBBB: Um, yes of course I do, we was there!
TBBB: Duh, of course we were and here is what I did there together (LINK TO MOST EXCELLENT BLOG POST FEATURING EVEN MORE STEPH.)
TBBB: But enough of this reminiscing nonsense. Despite being all beautiful and lovely, people may not know who Steph Broadribb actually is.
TBBB: You are right. Let’s give the readers a little bio, shall we?
Steph Broadribb was born in Birmingham and grew up in Buckinghamshire. Most of her working life has been spent between the UK and USA. As her alter ego – Crime Thriller Girl – she indulges her love of all things crime fiction by blogging at www.crimethrillergirl.com, where she interviews authors and reviews the latest releases. Steph is an alumni of the MA in Creative Writing (Crime Fiction) at City University London, and she trained as a bounty hunter in California. She lives in Buckinghamshire surrounded by horses, cows and chickens.
TBBB: She’s a bit of a smarty pants too, eh?. If that doesn’t just make her all the more adorable. Sigh. Anyway, enough…let’s get on with the show.
TBBB: Totes agreed, sigh, and yes, let’s…
TBBB: First order of the day is to reveal….the title! Are. You. Ready?
TBBB: Hit me…..
OUCH-UH!!…I didn’t mean literally. Why do I bully me so?
TBBB: *snigger* sorry, right, here we go….
TBBB: *gasps* the other two titles started with “Deep”!!
TBBB: *sigh* may I continue?
TBBB: You may….ooh, I wonder what will be next…?
TBBB: OooOooh, Steph, I’m liking this word…..
TBBB: Calm myself, it probably doesn’t mean what you think it means, filthy man….anyway…
TBBB: DEEP DIRTY TRUTH….We’re liking that a lot. What could be the “truth”? Is Lori going to tell JT that she is the one who forgot to cancel the milk the last time that they went out on a bounty hunt together resulting in a weeks worth of milk going off on the porch step and the ensuing skunk infestation?
TBBB: Or is JT going to come clean about trying on some of Lori’s favourite tops when she was away, just out of curiosity like, resulting in them stretching out wrong and then secretly hiding them in Dakota’s bedroom and therefore trying to shift the blame onto her?
TBBB: Orrrrrr, will Lori come clean that it was her who mixed up the massage oil with Deep Heat muscle rub resulting in JT’s rather painful pe…
TBBB: OK, OK, OK, OK…stop with the truths now! You will just have to read it and find out like the rest of us. SO, finally, we get to the cover itself.
TBBB: Ooh..ooh..can I reveal it please?
TBBB: No, wait…..first we must reveal……THE BLURB:
A price on her head. A secret worth dying for.
Just 48 hours to expose the truth…
Single-mother bounty hunter Lori Anderson has finally got her family back together, but her new-found happiness is shattered when she’s snatched by the Miami Mob – and they want her dead. Rather than a bullet, they offer her a job: find the Mob’s ‘numbers man’ – Carlton North – who’s in protective custody after being forced to turn federal witness against them. If Lori succeeds, they’ll wipe the slate clean and the price on her head – and those of her family – will be removed. If she fails, they die.
With North due in court in forty-eight hours, Lori sets off across Florida, racing against the clock to find him and save her family. Only in this race the prize is more deadly – and the secret she shares with JT more dangerous – than she ever could have imagined.
In this race only the winner gets out alive…
Brimming with tension, high-stakes jeopardy and high-voltage action, and a deep, emotional core, Deep Dirty Truth is an unmissable thriller by one of the freshest and most exciting voices in crime fiction.
TBBB: Oooooh, that sounds jolly exciting. That Lori, just when things were starting to look like they were going her way the shit doth hit the fan again. When will she ever get a break, eh?
TBBB: Hopefully not too soon otherwise there may not be a book 4. Now…
TBBB: Ooooh, ooooh, NOW CAN I REVEAL THE COVER, PLEEEEEEASE? *hops from foot to foot in excitement*
TBBB: We shall reveal it toget….
TBBB: TOO LATE…….IN MY FACE, ME!
TBBB: Look at it! it’s a thing of beauty. Another Kid Ethic (aka Mark Swan) triumph.
TBBB: Ooh, look who’s sulking now, eh?
TBBB: Sh’up! So, there we have it Beardy Blog Fans, the awesome cover for the third Lori Anderson book: Deep Dirty Truth.
TBBB: When is it out?
TBBB: Ah yes, thank you, it is published on 5th January 2019!
TBBB: What? That’s chuffing ages away *pouts*
TBBB: Now, now, good things come to those who wait, young bearded one.
TBBB: I guess.
TBBB: So, there we have it. All that remains is for me to thank myself, The Beardy Book Blogger, for speaking to me and for assisting, if that is the correct word, in this cover reveal and to thank Karen Sullivan and Steph Broadribb herself for inviting me to take part in the first place. I imagine it may be the last time 😉
